You know the one. The stack on the counter, the corner of the desk, the “just for now” pile that has been there for weeks. It’s not doing anything wrong. It’s just waiting for a moment of your attention.
This is that moment.
Try this:
Use iRAFT — our 5-step system for all incoming paper and information. Here’s how to apply it to your pile right now:
- Set a timer for 15 minutes.
- Pick up each piece of paper and ask one simple question: what does this need?
- READ — something you want or need to read? Put it in a reading spot.
- ACTION — something that needs a response, a payment, or a follow-up? Into your action folder or container.
- FILE — something to keep for reference? Into a “to file” pile.
- TOSS — expired, irrelevant, or junk? Recycle or shred it.
That’s it. Four destinations. Most of that pile is probably TOSS — and that’s a relief, not a failure.
You don’t need to file everything today. Getting it sorted is the win.
One gentle step at a time,
