Not to fix it. Not yet. Just to name it.
There’s something powerful about naming the thing we’ve been quietly stepping around, averting our eyes from, telling ourselves we’ll deal with ‘eventually.’ Naming it makes it real. And real things can be addressed. Vague things just loom.
Try this:
Right now, without overthinking it: what is the most cluttered spot in your home or office? The corner, the chair, the closet, the car trunk, the email inbox?
Say it out loud, or write it down. Just: that’s the one.
You don’t have to touch it today. Awareness is the first step in SEE IT. MAP IT. DO IT.© And seeing it clearly, without flinching, is more than enough for this moment.
The doing comes later. The seeing comes first. Right now, my hot spot is a small pile of stuff I haven’t taken the time to make decisions on and keep moving between my office and the dining table.
