You know the ones. The shirt that doesn’t quite fit right. The pants you keep meaning to hem. The dress you love in theory but never actually reach for. They’re taking up prime real estate in your closet, and a surprising amount of mental and emotional space every day.

Getting dressed can be easy. When half your closet has things you’re working around, it isn’t.

Try this:

This week, as you get dressed each morning, just notice. When you move something aside to get to something else, that’s your signal. At the end of the week, gather those items and honestly answer:

  • Does this fit me right now?
  • Do I feel good in it?
  • Have I worn it in the last year?

If the answer to all three is no, it’s ready to go. Donate, consign, or release. Let your closet be full of things that are actually for you.

Here’s to getting dressed with ease,
